This has provided the opportunity to integrate services for the benefit of local people and the Trust’s ambition is to provide a one stop shop service to support people with their life plan. Care delivery will be well co-ordinated, joined up and designed to meet multiple needs. Lancashire Care is ranked nationally as the top care Trust for delivering research activity to improve services and is in the top 20% nationally for staff engagement. There is a strong track record of achievement with award winning services and a history of financial stability.The Trust now has opportunities for 2 Non-Executive Directors to join the Board. Your role will be to help shape the Trust’s vision, values and strategic goals and play a key role in the future direction of the organisation. You will provide advice and guidance to the Executive Team within a broad corporate context and within your own specific area of expertise.Candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • Genuine interest in the local and national health agenda coupled with highly developed interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to understand complex strategic issues analyse and resolve difficult problems.
  • Sound, independent judgement, common sense and diplomacy
  • Politically astute, with the ability to grasp relevant issues and understand relationships between interested parties
  • Clear understanding, and acceptance, of the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of non-executive directors coupled with sound knowledge of corporate governance.

We are looking for individuals with specific skills at Board level in the following areas:

  • Post one: Recent financial experience gained at Board level or equivalent in a large, complex, changing organisation. It is expected that the appointed individual will have the qualities and experience required to be considered for the role of the Chair of Audit Committee on retirement of the current Chair.
  • Post two: Recent experience at Board level or equivalent in a large, complex organisation with either a clinical background or a background in business development and commercial activity.
