rowena ironside2Hear Rowena Ironside, pioneering Chair of Women on Boards UK, talking about the unique challenges women face when claiming their rightful place in the boardroom at the Portfolio Careers Day on Saturday 16 February 2013 at UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre, Bristol

Rowena spent 25 years as an executive in the ICT industry, including the start-up and sale of a successful IT services company and leadership of several large, multi-national professional and managed services businesses.  Over the past ten years she has built a second career as a non-executive director, consultant and angel investor. She has held executive and non-executive roles in the not-for-profit and start-up sectors and spent 2010 working with a microfinance charity that makes loans to women in sub-Saharan Africa.

Rowena is an experienced SME director and charity trustee with particular expertise in strategy, technology, governance and finance. She is currently Chair of Compassion in Dying, a charity that supports and empowers people at the end of life and executive Chair of Women on Boards UK, an open, action-oriented organisation for women seeking to leverage their professional skills and experience into board and leadership roles.
